Anti-capitalist finance tip #1: Let go of perfectionism

None of us can end capitalism by ourselves. None of us can stop participating entirely in capitalism. None of us are immune from perpetrating harm in this global oppressive system.

I'm writing this post on a MacBook and uploading it to Squarespace where it's probably hosted on Amazon servers. You're probably using another lithium-battery-powered device to read it. The cobalt needed to create the battery for my MacBook and your device were mined under horrific human rights abuses in the Congo. And don't get me started on the avocado I bought with my breakfast.

When I say anti-capitalist financial planning, I don't mean stop participating in capitalism. I don't mean give all your money away and martyr yourself for the cause

I mean let's speak honestly about what's happening, find ways to reduce harm, and do more mutual aid

Trying to make yourself perfect isn't part of it.
